ACI's Fall 2008 Audit Committee Roundtable Series

Considering Financial Crisis Risks – Beyond Wall Street and the Balance Sheet

Invitation

View the invitation

With the reach of the credit crunch and resulting financial crisis extending well beyond Wall Street and the financial sector, companies and boards are taking a hard look at the array of risks now facing their company. Credit, liquidity, cash flow, commodity prices, asset valuations, and an array of other risks facing the company—including the financial health of the company's customers, vendors, and partners—are front-and-center today. In this difficult and uncertain environment, many boards and audit committees are not only sharpening their focus on these risks; they also are reassessing how the company manages risk.

KPMG's Fall 2008 Audit Committee Roundtable series, Financial Crisis and Risk Oversight: Reassessing Risk in the Wake of Market Turmoil, to be held in 29 cities, will explore these issues in some detail, and consider the challenges audit committees face in assessing and monitoring the effectiveness of the company's risk management processes going forward. Leading practices and useful takeaways are key elements of the dialogue.

Industry-Specific Roundtable Session

An industry-specific Audit Committee Roundtable session designed for the mutual funds sector will be held in New York following the general audit committee roundtable session. Click here for further details and to register for this industry-specific session.

The NACD Corporate Directors Institute has accredited this program to provide two continuing education credits (CDE) for those who hold the Certificate of Director Education. Additionally, 2–3 continuing professional education (CPE) credits are available to participants, although state boards have final authority on the acceptance and determination of individual course credits.
